Genuine Pinarello Dealers – Put a face to the name 4 Rules to detect a False Pinarello

The success of a brand inevitably leads to the birth of counterfeiters, a common phenomenon in the fashion world, however, in the bicycle sector, a dangerous decision for the purchaser/rider.

1. Counterfeiters usually hide behind E-COMMERCE PLATFORMS AND ONLINE AUCTIONS sites. 2. The counterfeiters often pretend to be contractors OR official manufacturers/factories for Pinarello, the OEM Factory. Recall that CICLI PINARELLO SPA head office and production facility that DO NOT SELL FRAMES ONLINE 3. The counterfeiters do not offer an OFFICIAL PINARELLO WARRANTY, a one and only document recognized by Pinarello. Cicli Pinarello grants a 2-year warranty. You can extend the warranty to 3 years registering the serial number in our website within 10 days of purchase. This procedure will grant you at the same time that the frame is original. 4. If you decide to buy a used Pinarello via the INTERNET, and it is not possible to visit the seller, it is crucial you request the PINARELLO SERIAL NUMBER which is located under the bottom bracket. In addition request for a photo of this serial number and a copy of the Official Pinarello Warranty Documents. A quick cross-check via one of our Pinarello Points can immediately verify if the Frame is Original or False.

We have analyzed several FALSE frames which have been confiscated via International Customs Authorities. These frames have been passed through the most elementary of resistance testing. The results showed worrying structural failures that can cause serious damage and / or death to the rider.

How long has cycle science been around that they have only given out 5 invoices. Something seems a little dodge with the invoice.

Also no individual line item, just a straight R91k. * I say this as I bought a complete bike and it was detailed on the invoice*

Hmmm I think this thread may get even more views tomorrow.

And DT SWISS wheels you say. Those are also fake??? If I understood correctly, if so that's another manufacture that they have now placed in the line of fire,,,,, IMAGINE BEING A FLY ON THAT WALL

They just had one in my size (51) at Turramurra Cyclery in Sydney that could use my group set. This was on the Wednesday the Three Peaks Challenge was on the Sunday. Pardon the segue but the race was amazing 235km of up and down and well organised check it out online.

So,, Can you feel a difference between the Cycle Science and your new bike?

How much lighter is the genuine than the fake?

This frame is slightly different to the OP's. look at the internal routing holes. Scary thought that there could be quite a few different fakes being sold as the real deal. :( Edited by Spoke101

invoice does look a little funny?.......cant quite put my finger on it.......

Odd that they would specify the VAT amount as the invoice is not SARS compliant. That is not needed then. Also, no company registration details...

When a company is doing something dodgy the invoice generally looks dodgy.

Then there is the Account name "Podio Importers" surly this can't be Cycle Science's normal trading account? which leads me to ask what else are they importing and selling on the side?
