So I can now give a not so comprehensive review on the SYM300 scooter...

This review is taking a long time to come out.  Expecting a masterpiece in automotive journalism.

My Nephew rides MX in Cape Town and he is graduating from a KX85 to a YZ125.  I found him an ex-team bike here in Pretoria and I collected it last night.  Couldn't resist taking it for a little blast up the road.

And scared myself shitless.  I don't know what happened between when I was a kid blasting my KDX200 flat out down a dirt road in the dark in 1988 and going up a tar road last night, but I got into third, turned it around and putted back to the garage and parked it.

That thing is fearsome.

I know what happened..... your balls shrank......

A.G.E ...... when you were younger you were more fearless ?

Which I think is why as much as I hope I am proven wrong, Rossi at 40, is not going to be able to compete with someone who is 23 and fearless.....

Ha-Ha - funny you mention that - I went for a whole bunch of blood tests at the beginning of the year, because it's the responsible thing over 45 blah blah blah.....

And one of the things they tested was my Testosterone level. Not pretty

Its very good...

i am trying to think whats not good on it and I can only think of two things:

1. Seat Height - I am used to being higher up and seeing over the cars

2. urgency - It gets out the hole fine but roll on urgency just isnt there.

Otherwise its pretty awesome, great brakes, good go, decent lights.

This will solve point 2...

Time to get in to competitive sports now with your condoned supplementation regime

Edit: apologies, comment probably in poor taste...

popped in at my neighbours garage last night, and he has a nice collection of 3 x Harley's, a fantastic condition R80 and nicely converted R1 (seat still to be fabricated and has just about no mileage on the clock)

was a quick chat that ended up being a long chat......as much as I hate saying it, those Harley's are lovely bikes!

Oh yeah. I rode a worked KDX 220 for many years, and recently rode a Husky 300  Holy smokes, 2 strokes have changed somewhat!

Last weekend we popped into the Indian motorcycles shop in Melrose Arch.

MY GOODNESS there are some beautiful machines there. My favourite was actually a second hand one for sale which the prev owner had fully customised, put a couple hundred kays on it, and decided to sell. Made me sad it didn't have a deserving owner...

Haha - at R3000 per injection and a 6-month course I told the Doc he's got to be kidding.

R18000 gets you a lot of motorbike bits that will make me just as happy.

OK so had to use the Scoot to commute..

Midrand to Alberton

Everything you think you know about scooters is wrong.

This thing is awesome, comfort, no need to keep shifting as you dodge cars

Protection, it was raining, only my helmet got wet.

Brakes awesome as I mentioned before.

Surprising, really surprising.
