No pics, but my eldest son and I took the offroad bikes for a quick 60km around the koppie ride yesterday late afternoon.  It clouded over quickly, so we ended up being rained on, and it was nearly dark when we got home.  So lekker to be out on a bike, in the veld, when the first real rain of the season hit.

So it is day 86 today.

Reached out on the 25th to see if the engineer has had a look at the shaft. - no response

Reached out yesterday asking in a voice note if there is any progress and if the gaskets have arrived. - no response.

Tomorrow we start harassing him again to get some feedback.

Edit:

Today is to the day 3 weeks from when I paid him for the work and he could order the gaskets. He did note a 3 week period for delivery of the gaskets.

So we are theoretically on track

Did a trip to Cape Town a week ago to see the musical Chicago. Missus reckoned I should take my 690……..so day one to Montagu was 300 kms dirt via Klein Brak, Van Wyks Dorp and Ladismith. Then loaded the wee 690 on the X Ramp for the trip to the city and home. This to me is an absolute winner. I will be travelling like this in the future.IMG_1760.jpeg.8c6584d4da0113a5ea4b4ed8530b8f5a.jpegIMG_1759.jpeg.61d3179a37ae9ef4f70e7f71e707e680.jpegIMG_1756.jpeg.90120c4971c4d1f52a0136880523dc04.jpegIMG_1757.jpeg.4a8964745a5023b0063e0ced86791ab4.jpeg

Shame remember that poor woman who sent pics to the local Moms WA group.  I don't think she was ever able to recover from that.

Well now…. Thankfully for you lot I did not go down that road.

Went past the workshop on Friday, the old girl is standing there with her insides ripped out, and with what looks like no work.

Dude is nowhere to be seen, motor on the workbench, and the guys in the workshop do not know the status of the motor, or where the gaskets are.

Still not answering my calls, so I sent a very "appropriate" voice note was responded to where I either get my money given back now, or the bike gets built up now....and he noted that this weekend he will "get it done".

Really not holding my breath on this one.
