Took the TW to an ADA intermediate Dual Purpose course the weekend.

After riding around lots of cones, we finally got to ride some singletrack ...

and there was even a nightride :)

BMW F650 GS 2006.

Think I need to look into a new seat.

I bought a F800GS, read a few forums that the seat is rather hard for long distance. Pfffttt thought I, I have a roadie butt after all. I'm looking for a new seat, heard gels are good.

LMAO, this one has an aftermarket Mikumi carb on it so its fairly simple, trying to find an Amal to keep it original, but I would not let my 8yo near it, too may fiddly bits to go missing.

You've got a very sweet bike there - I would leave that carb as is - I have a lot of experience with Amal carbs, and if you are going to ride the bike like you say you are, you don't want to be messing with an old carb you battle to get parts for. And if you are worried about originality, most people accept that if you are going ride the bike like it was meant to be ridden, you are allowed to make concessions - modern tyres, mirrors and a modern carb are all ok!

Agreed, similar to the Indicator, currently got aftermarket (although I'd find some more "period correct" looking ones some day) ones on to be legal, don't like the look of them but modern laws need to be adhered to.

Pulling the front wheel off on the weekend to replace the fork gaitors, will take some better pics with it polished up.
