That's how it works in business.. they will take you out. The potential risks having wiggins in the team (in a supporting role) could prove detrimental for sky at Le Tour.. internal politics, friction, differences etc.so we just not have him there at all. Irrespective whether there are differences, if you have the talent and ability you should be at Le Tour.. he does not only have the ability to do well, he has the ability to win! Due to internal differences, this athlete (nevermind supporting or leading the team) does not take part in the tour at all. Very sad for competition as a whole. will be glad if he gets signed by another team! only my opinion folks

Wasn't a surprise after Froomes book, the history etc. Big call from Brailsford, Let tour starting in UK, possibility of 2 british formers winners on a british team. The marketing guys @ sky and team sky must be livid.

Who knows what the real reason is but you know that Dave B would have called it on the numbers, form and Froomes say. After his book release which basically slotted any love-in between him and Twiggy it's not a massive surprise.

I think they missed a trick. Wiggins is in good form, would have probably taken a stage and after the tour of cali Froome would have had a big engine, helper for the cobbles and a team member that can ride hard tempo for a sustained period and a plan B if something goes wrong. Is Porte in any frame to be a plan B at the moment? Is Wiggins better than the other options?

what next for Wiggins? Stay or go?

refused to help chris. what an ass! how can wiggins be so selfish? its a team sport

On what do you base that? He said he was keen to race in a support role.

I don't like Wiggins, but I'd like to know how you came up with this.

Apparently Mr Tinkov would be keen to chat to the hipster as he's got his cheque book out and recent reports have him saying that there is no cash ceiling to ramping up his team and 'wants to be no1'.

Is there any possible way to have the last two winners of the tour on your squad and keep harmony?

didn't le mond have the same issues?

From where I'm standing it doesn't matter what they do… theres only one man this year!!! Berto will rule !!!

That aside… i think i would break their team up if you had 2 rivals going for glory. I don't think Wiggo will ever work for Froome.

Anyway… their riding for second place if you ask me!

Tricky stuff

Sir Brad is the icon of British Cycling

Sky Racing is all about furthering British cycling and a real monument of the Brits' presence in the sport.

Apparently, his contract runs out and Froome's has longer life.

Hmmm

There are a number of teams without a proper GC contender, if he chooses to keep racing he can name his price. Actually warmed to him recently after watching him at Paris Roubaix and Tour of California.

If you ask me, Froome would've won the 2012 Tour had it not been for the "team set up" / pecking order whatever you want to call it.

He was stronger than Wiggins. A duel between the two on opposing teams , with Contador in the mix will make for a better tour in my mind.

Wiggins needs to jump ship now and then prove what he's worth.

Another theory is that Wiggo could put time into Froome in final long TT in the Tour and will remain a threat in the absence of trust.

Wiggo also has a top 10er in 'Roubaix

The 2014 route has got some pavé.

Maybe have an edge over Froomster there too.
