I will be there doing the 80km mtb, its an awesome event and I think one of the easier 80km out there. Sticking around for the Featherbed trail run on Tuesday as well. I will be pouring wine at the Knysna Festival Wine Show on Monday and Tuesday night, Lithos Wines, come say hi. Dont forget about the Gardenroute trail park night ride on Sunday!

Sounds good but dont think I will have anything left in me to another km after both days.

For the first time in 5 years not going to bother. Road Race route looks crap/dangerous with narrow roads . You're going to have riders climbing slowly and at the same time riders racing down the same road?

Plus I feel accommodation prices have become ludicrous

Accomadation is fair if you book in advance. Such a great event, you are going to regret not going.

I am in for the 100 kay road, have not decided if I want drag the mountain bike up or just go for a lekker road ride on the saturday! I think my MTB may be left a little wanting.. How hectic is the 30 - 50? Got a trek 800 no shocks and V brakes and about 7 gears.

Staying in the wilderness, love that side of the world.

Its the easiest 50km out there, nice rolling gravel roads and only 1 big climb at the start. 7 years ago that bike was awesome, it will handle it without any problem.

Doing the MTB 80km. Brilliant ride and not so tough.

The road race sucks!

Agreed, except for the bold red bit! ;)

Skistar it's a mass participation event, so not technical at all. A racing snake like you shouldn't have problems with the 50km

Does anyone know who is timing the event?

Considering going up for the road race.

Agree with an earlier comment, the roads off of the main road are very narrow and could get hectic - i guess go out hard and get back before the 'masses' arrive
