Also phoned and got a whole breakdown - Bike will be complete - all parts are present.

If I send my e-mail the boyfriend will mail me photos of a roadbike that they have as well.

Maybe more hubbers should show their interest.

How is he going to click on the "send" button if he has no fingers??

Didn't one of the bikeshops mechanics have a car accident a few months ago, where he lost his fingers? I might be picking up stompies, but I seem to recall a tragic incident like that about two months ago. Who knows, this might just be a legit ad......

True, and unfortunately unless someone says it's theirs and they can prove it, there's not much that can be done. Only to make someone who would take the risk just to ride the brand aware that if someone is capable of stealing a bike to make a bike, you're at risk of being robbed in the sale process as well. Also most people get their new bike from insurance and aren't too bothered anymore. it's unfortunate as it feeds the market and makes more cyclists targets.

It was Frans from Troisport. So if the boyfriend/Fiance's name is Frans, then this is in all likelihood genuine

I can see a pair of crutches in a couple of the OLX pics...

I can see a bullet for the person who takes 15k cash into the township to conclude the deal...

Maybe thehub or other concerned party like insurance companies can start a database of stolen bicycle serial numbers accompanied by a police docket number. It could be handy to help us first trace the Serial number. Unfortunately this does not help for components and the database might also be abused.
