the original Big Brother? 2001

“I’m glad justice has been served, but four people still died,” said Wood after the verdict. “Those people had brothers, mothers… we’re all going to live with this for the rest of our lives.”

Wood, wearing an Evil Eye necklace, said he was moving away from security, after his stint at Aurora Empowerment Systems had left him with a year of legal woes.

Flippin classic...I remember seeing Brad out jolling at that cow place in Fourways (Vache something or another) and also seeing Lara Plumstead out at Slippery n Wet. I used to work with Plumstead when she was marketing manager at Tarsus Technologies - I wrote their press releases. She was totally up herself even before Big Brother.

And remember Brad started a political party called 'TOP' - The Organisation Party (how kiff bru is that - bru you better be careful, that's not a threat, it's a promise).

Mine was just like this.

VOLKSWAGENPoloSedan-3561_3.jpg

Lasted 3 month, before I wrapped it around 2 lampoles and Midas sign, right in front of the police station in Strand. with my new found respect for safety, I then bought something much safer, a 20v Corrola RSI

I always schmaaked those Corolla RSis. My first cabbie was a 1988 silver VW Fox which I got after swearing off motorbikes - first bike was a 1981 Suzuki GSX 750, then a 1986 Yamaha FJ1100. Dangerous things.

Then when I got my second cabbie, it was a toss up between a metallic greenish coloured RSi or a white 1998 BMW 318iS. Went for the Beemer and pretty much had Beemer's ever since...

During the mid eighties, there was a “cartoon” on TV that was about guys in space, fighter pilots I think. From what I remember it had a puppet look, like Team America. Can anybody remember what it was called?

How many guys remember the sore arm from those 3 in 1 army injections you got when Klaaring in at basics.... I had to have a tetanus shot this week which kind of reminded me about it

Lucky man, planet Zug has no need for yellow fever innoculations :D

The Wombles, Morph? anyone remember those? Morph was my favourite, also enjoyed Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, and Dino Riders.

That’s it! Thank you!

The wisdom of the hub comes to bear again.

Gosh the good old days hey. What a time and place to be alive - I always remember feeling useless and worthless as a lightie in SA, especially when checking those fake adverts for fake crap in the back of DC comics (you know what I mean, for Sea Monkeys and see through specs) and just desperately wanted to be grown up and escaped from that prison of youth.

Now look. Careful what you wish for eh.
