Some events say they give the prizes to the prizes to first three across the line and not the three fastest. This us the case for die burger mtb

Guy who got the prize finished behind me only beat me in the first event

I have a slight dilemma.

According to the official results I finished 3rd overall in the GC at the local MTB series. (results only came out today)

At the prize giving however someone else was awarded the prize.

Question is should I let it go or complain about it?

Not that impressive when u think only 4 riders,,,,,kidding kidding well done

Not sure if this applies to this situation. In our local races the shorter distance prizes are only awarded to the age category deemed to be racing that event. i.e.(u14=15km, u16=20km, u18=40km, etc) I guess this stops the adults steeling the kids prizes and taking the intensive away.

Only restriction was that elites are not allowed to race/ride the 15km.

I'm riding just out of the elite group (sub-vet) and the oke who won the prize is a wee bit older than I am, so that is not the issue.

Edit. ps Them laaities almost killed me out there when it came to intensity

I think Cathi has left East London, someone else is now in her place.

She is in Dullstroom but is still involved in the timekeeping

What distance was the race?

15km

15km

Thanks, I have found that in certain events only the far distance receives the attention. The minor distances are almost ignored by the organisers. IMO this is wrong as everybody pays an entry fee.

If its XCO, different story, but as for Half and Full Marathons, of course If I win the 75km in the Elites and my mate that's also a Elite rides the 20km and wins that, surely my win must get more recognition?

As for the younger riders that can not ride the long distances, they do get recognized, they get selected for provincials and nationals based on their results.
