so the two most covered songs of all time are yesterday and Elanor rigby

Happy mr calculus?

No, not happy.

What about Jingle Bells or the final movement of Beethoven's 9th symphony (Ode to Joy) ??

Both have certainly been recorded more often.......

Ps. In 1998 I participated in a pub quiz in Windsor where the Yesterday vs. Eleanor Rigby factions nearly broke the pub down. Team ER won on a technical knockout in the 8th round, hence me naming it above. It may not be right, but it won that night.

well that's just bulldust...uh mean the only quoted source mr slinky has says 131 is more than 7 million. you don't have to be mr calculus to know which is more.

but ja, it's a bit of a piece of string question. even Gotye has been covered more times in one song than madonna (musically or otherwise). so many times he even put a mashup on his youtube profile

In the early 90s...to celebrate 40 years of the NME they put out a double CD called Ruby Trax where british artists covered a number 1 of their choice....Suede did an absolutely splendid job of Brass in Pocket
