Dissapointing to see okes cheating

Did the 50k USN event at BRB this morning. Great event, but Really disappointed to see guys taking shortcuts on the 20k's that went through the normal brb area, cutting huge chunks of distance by using shortcuts. I saw three different incident. I can't understand the logic. If you don't want to ride 50k's, then don't enter for 50k's. It's not as if I was anywhere near the front and these okes were fighting for podium places. So what do cheats do? Do they go home and tell their family that they cheated or do they just lie and say they rode the whole event?

If you take a shortcut because you are stuffed, or crashed or struggle, you should NOT ride over the finish line timing mat. That way you will not get a time, and that will make it OK in my book.

(One of my mates once took a shortcut back to the finish during a 55km race, got lost and ended up riding over 60 kms. We pulled his leg for a bit after that!)

It is odd, and the same thing happened on the 94.7 cycle challenge with people skipping the town center section.

Not sure what the point is - if you improve your seeding and then can't keep up with your new "mates" at the next race you're gonna look like a knob . . . .

And if you go home and tell the family you are a #hero without mentioning the fact that you cheated, well then you are already a knob.

Saw that in the 30 as well. Passed a guy and never saw him again until getting to the area around the parking and he was there. Nee man

Blows my mind.

You pay more to ride a 50km and you cheat and only do 30km... Why don't they rather enter the 20km and do 30km... then they get more than they pay for!!

I know exactly what you mean... I did race #6 last year, started in right at the front of the B batch, not a single person came past me anywhere.

Checked results and I came 2nd in the batch, compained and it fell of deaf ears.

If okes have to cheat to beat, they are general losers in all aspects of life.

At least I have a clear conscience that I dont cheat.

Cheaters are losers, end of story

I saw a guy yesterday carrying his bike over the railway lines. What he didn't realise though is that there was a marshal kicking back under a bush. He got sent back over the tracks and was told to finish.

I saw that marshal. Bet the rider felt like a right burk! Lol

USN races at BRB are famous for shortcuts and cheating, it's the way the track double backs on itself makes it easy to jump over to cut out km's. Cannot understand why though because they missing out on awsome single track.
