question :: thats your mate in the photo who here will report him??

I would most definitely report him, but then again, I'm not normal.

Cyclists behaving badly is one of my pet hates, reason being that the motorist he/she pisses off today, will be out to kill me tomorrow.

Honestly, I can't see how a cyclist could cause such a dent without a least ruining his bike too? (picture about the dent isn't to clear either)

I tend to keep away from naming-and-shaming on the internet, you never see or hear the whole story but it can cause a lot of damage to people and their reputation.

I'm not saying the tweeter is lying, just sayng to be critical and careful.
If it was a friend of mine, I'd first ask what happened. If he admitted, I'd urge him to show up.

How do you get pitchas but not apprehend him? I hope he is in a world of pain. Own up and don't be a chop.

Almost looks like cctv footage quality. Don't think it was taken with phone... who knows though.

Was offline for a bit..

I was in two minds about posting this, but in the end I figured I'm just a messenger (please don't shoot me) and this might help the parties involved get together and sort the matter out.

Yes, it does look like quite a knock to the car.  Maybe the cyclist tossed the bike and hit it with his body so the bike was fine to ride away..

As someone stated though, three sides to every story.

I never thought (if this scenario is true) that the cyclist would come forward, but rather that a friend of his would spot it and mention it to him and in turn it would maybe play on his conscience..

Whatever the story is and what the outcome may be, I offered to post this for someone who doesn't have an account here, they were grateful, so I did..

nothing wrong with linking to something in the open public domain.

they could have put a time to the incident on the tweet. also confused as to how he got away, traffic maybe, and a bike can beat cars backed up anyday.

Here we go again..... lets wait till we hear the other side of the story! all i see is a cyclist on his bike, then i see him standing there (doesn't seems to be in pain). maybe this didn't happen the way it seems... are there any pictures of him hitting the car?

If the story i true... come out man and tell what happened ! I surely hope your ok anyway.

Maybe the car stopped right in front of him or something.... if he didn't then that oke on the bike is NOT riding in my group at the CTCT!  :whistling:

Ok.....this car was parked in Simons Town in front of the owners home. The dude on the bike hit the PARKED car around 6.30 this morning. The cyclist was offered help by someone who saw it go down and when the witness went to ask him if he needs help, he refused medical help. The bystander then went to his car (not the one damaged) to get his phone....when the dude on the bike fled the scene.....on his bike. The bystander was able to give a description of the cyclist, to the owner of the car. She then went to find CCTV footage of someone fitting that description, around that time of the morning.....this is him. He left Simons town on his bike and appeared to be fine. He cycled alone. She is aware that he has 24hours in which to rapport it...and respectfully requested for him to come clean and to own up. I am her best friend and it is pretty crappy that a fellow cyclist won't just own up. As someone else said.... We,the cyclists, also have a responsibility..... His behavior could lead to someone who has less time for cyclists.....and a pissed off motorist with a grudge against cyclists....could hit me!!! I would rat you out even if you are my friend....but you are not so I am asking for someone who knows this dude...to ask him to come forward. Simons town is my route and I do not want any pissed off drivers there.

Shell provides that kit to employees and customers and service station owners.

Might help to call them in the morning and ask to speak to the public relations officer.

I think I recognize the guy, I see him riding around the Peninsula area a fair bit. I will be out on the road this weekend and in the near future and will keep my eyes peeled. If I see him I will try get a photo that can be handed over to PPA or Cops to get an ID or something. I think the bike is one of the older Raleigh RC 3000's. Best thing this guy can do is hand himself in, he will be spotted at some point.
