I just looked at this again.

That means you are at 15 k's an hour and will give you a 4 minutes p/km. pace.

You are either very tall having the treadmill running at that speed you must have a huge stride and a cadence of less that 70.

I am a minute p/km. slower on the treadmill than the road.

If all numbers check out properly, you are a 3 minutes p/km. runner.

Cycling is not your sport .

The 39:28 for a 9km was done as part of a mini competition amongst folk at work where you could win a weekend at a game farm. Treadmills were set at a 1% incline. I nearly died and could hardly work afterwards. Im about 20 seconds per km slower on road, a very hard run would get me to 4:35ish per km over that distance.

Repeated shin splints put an end to my running, done a half marathon but never got to do a full one.

Same happens to me but you can manage it. I never run consecutive days and try to limit runs to 30 or 40 minutes. Rubbing my shins with arnica gel beforehand also helps. And the most important! Asics

Shin splints can be avoided by increasing mileage slowly and doing toe raises daily. The moment you feel that twinge in that muscle..slow your pace but don't stop running...and strengthen the muscle and do those toe raises

Yeah, I think thats probably most people. I can run sub 4's with ease on a treadmill, mostly because you learn to run fast on a treadmill. On the open road, sub 4's are a different beast all together. Are you slower on a treadmill cause you run "properly" on it? I find that most people I speak to say that they're faster on a treadmill.

Same cadence, same heart rate and I am slower on the treadmill, the main change in my stats is my stride length .

Set the treadmill for  4 minute p/km pace and the cadence alone will have me half dead on the ground (10 meters behind the treadmill) half dead if I try that for 40 minutes .

On the road and on the trail I can be efficient, get a better stride light, propel myself froward and control my cadence .

Run totally injury free .

I wish I had the patience...

EDIT: I'd personally like to see more convincing evidence of the benefits before making the transition.

Repeated shin splints put an end to my running, done a half marathon but never got to do a full one.

I used to suffer from chronic shin splints.

Resting and slowly building up, changing shoes you name them nothing of the normal stuff worked for me to get rid of the shin splits.

I stopped running for a couple of months to heal conpletely. When i started again i changed my running style from the traditional style to the barefoot type.

I havent had a single issue after that.

Every person needs to find what works for him.

I use this to prevent twisting ankles on my high-profile shoes

Bwahaha, The Sheriff is going to need to change his pic to something with tie-dye in it :P

It's funny, but he really struggles to keep it together.

The pair he has their is the old KSO, you will feel a tjerries nipples with those on.

They will make you use muscles you have never used before, I use them for the Warrior Black-Ops with Injinji socks, comfort from heaven .
