By my understanding through this definition we have to do it through CSA and as long as the event we are riding in is sanctioned by CSA we are all subject to testing.

That's my understanding from what I have read so far... someone to confirm?

I am trying to find out the same thing... I have used an asthma pump since I was a kid and don't want to get into trouble now.

I've got one ... somewhere LOL.

Your prescribing doc needs to fill in the form and send copies to SAIDS and CSA. From there it takes a while, think mine took close on three months? It's for an Asthma inhaler (that contains Clenbuterol aparently) and Spricatin (Blood pressure meds)

Asthma should be no problem as long as you are on acceptable medication. Clenbuterol is not available in RSA and a TUE would never be given for that.  If you are on salbutamol, formoterol or salmeterol and an inhaled corticosteroid you don't need a TUE and can just make a declaration of use if tested.  There are limits to the amounts of salbutamol and formoterol you can have in urine at testing but these are way in excess of usual therapeutic doses.  Hypertension meds often have a diuretic in them which can be viewed as a masking agent so TUE for this will be necessary.

Seems like anything that ends wit "rol" is a problem.

I can't even remember what the name of the inhaler is :D I got presribed teh inhaler at the same time as the Spiractin (which is, as you say, a diuretic) and the doc just sent in forms.

Have you been tested yet ?

Berto was very lucky/ had good lawayers. Clen is NOT explained easily. Prednisone is very commonly used though.

Yeah Contador had a good lawyer and threw many innocent people (like that poor beef farmer owner) to the wolves.

OK that's good news. Seratide?

Seretide is a combination of salmeterol and fluticasone so is fine and does not need TUE, declaration of use at testing time only

Ventolin is one of the many marketed forms of salbutamol - always OK if taken by inhaler and fewer than 16 puffs per day.  Alessandro Petacchi was done for exceeding this a few years ago - not sure if it was deliberate or 'accidental'
