What is legal?

Recommended Posts

As I walk around the pharmacy's I see VO2Max, all natural EPO , Gut tech, Glutamine etc etc etc.

Now my problem is that I am as green as they come to supplements of any sort. I went to the store to look for a recovery aid as i heard of Cadence , and left with a USN whey protein powder which i think is for body building after read it as they didn't have Cadence in stock

I don't want anything that is illegal but would like to know what are the correct options i have and what each one does or at least is meant to do.

Any and all assistance is appreciated.

Your query is quite vague.

Are you a pro athlete that is subjected to random drug testing?

Rule 1: If it works, it's probably illegal.

Rule 1a: If it works, it definitely is illegal.

Rule 2: It's your responsibility to make sure it's legal.

Rule 2a: Lookup each of the ingredients on http://www.drugfreesport.org.za/

Rule 2b: Lookup alternative names, eg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitter_orange

Rule 2c: Hope the manufacturer doesn't have a history of contamination

Dischem has a program where they've done some of the testing for you.  http://dischem.co.za/ChooseSafe/

I haven't yet seen the ChooseSafe stickers in store, yet, though.

Flavoured milk is legal and a lot more cost effective

As far as I know, all these off-the-shelf supplements are completely legal and basically (maybe not in all cases) glorified multi-vitamins shrouded in a lot of marketing hype. I also use protein, as it helps me with muscle building and recovery and I also use electrolyte powders in my bottles to help with hydration and some gels maybe.

You will be making a HUGE mistake if you believe that off the shelf makes it legal - there are lots that are banned for use in sport - especially in the weight control supplements.

It's a case of buyer beware....

+Yeah for peanut butter, honey and cheese zarmie

My latest version which is slightly more LCHF :whistling:

Scrambled egg and chopped up fried bacon on toast that has been impregnated with honey before putting the egg and bacon mix on, then topped with grated parmesan cheese.

Sorri for getting side tracked

No swiss, I think we giving the OP pearls here, I mean it tastes alot better, cost a lot less and is easily accessible...magic trifecta if you ask me.

You can print V02MaxExtremePowerRaceRocketFuel stickers and put it on the sami and coke if you really want

In his profile pic it looks like he is wearing a camel back(hydration bag thing). So he is most definitely not a pro
