Jigghead Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I used to ride The Spruit on my own from around 04h00, before it was dangerous, and on one occasion water in the Camelbak hose actually froze. Get good gloves, a cycling balaclava, warm cycling jersey/top, buff and whatever else you'll need and HTFU! It's getting out of bed that's usually the problem. Some of my best rides were in the dark freezing winter mornings.

As has been mentioned - I have no choice when racing BUT I do have a choice in winter and cycling is not my work, so IDT and later weekend rides and HUGE RESPECT for the riders that are more committed than me.
