Ferret and Stu, how many km's are you guys getting out of your Adidas Bostons? I know Stu is currently on the Nike Epic React,(that will be my second choice) I'm switching to Adidas Bostons 7 for a lighter racing shoe, and don't want to buy a new pair every month. :whistling:

Was thinking of Using the Bostons for weekend long runs, races and speed sessions, and my Pegasus for my normal training runs during the week.

You should get similar to your normal mileage on them. They have enough cushioning to not go flat too quickly and the outsole is the Conti material and that lasts very well. In a three shoe rotation you will get decent miles on them. I'm fairly hard on shoes though and generally start feeling the road on longer runs after 650-700km in any shoe. Look at Ferret's gear strava page, you will see he gets huge miles out of his. He is much lighter on his feet than I am.

But seriously, change the Pegasus for the React's. you will thank me. They are my default shoe at the moment and feel they are as quick as the Bostons.

I actually do like the Reacts. They are a bit lighter than the Bostons and The Zoom Fly according to the Reviews online. And I am a bit scared changing to a different shoe, been with nike for years and years.  Just look at your Comrades Time with the reacts. So I guess it is a fast shoe.  :w00t:

Hey Lexx

I run in both the Adios Boston (about 220g) and the Adizero Boston (around 240g).

The Adios is lighter/Faster and more responsive but I battle to get 400kms out of them even though they say they both have the same Continental sole (In my opinion they don't)…

The Adizero Boston's  are my main go to training shoe and I have been through at least 10 pairs in the last 4 years... Those I now get closer to 700kms on before I start feeling they are a bit flat (then I downgrade them to my Gym/Cross training shoes and then eventually to my action cricket shoes)

I've always raced though up to the Marathon distance in the Brooks T7s until they discontinued them last year... I tried the Replacement Brooks Hyperion for CT Marathon last year but they are just not the same.

However in Feb I got my hands on a pair of Nike Vaporfly 4%'s and I'm battling to look past them as Racing shoe... Only problem is they are hard to find and super expensive.. BUT they are THAT good.

The Nike new cushioned sole is just so comfortable I'm now also looking at the React as a possible new training/tempo option..

Hope that helps a little.. But Yes you get into a Lighter more responsive shoe to increase the pace, stride length and spm..

Dudes,

I have a confession to make.

I rode my bike today.

I saw that... I rode a Wattbike - twice....

The last time I dusted my Bike off for a Quick Out ride I ended in ICU with a broken Leg...

I use my old T7 racers for round the garage now as they are well past running condition, the other day I had an off hour so decided to sneak a run and the T7's were the only shoes I had in the car, Man I forgot how fast those shoes feel...

I see Nike and Adidas being discussed here, but how about the other brands? The reason why I ask is, I'm consedering the Saucony Freedom... What about the Saucony Kinvara?

I use the Nike Terra Kiger for trail and it is a fantastic shoe, but the Terra Kiger seems like a completely different shoe compared the usual Nike shoes.
