Andrew Steer Posted November 13, 2018 Share Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon21 mins · #OMTOM 2019 Ultra entries are now closed. We have reached capacity. Due to entry load surge at peak times there were some delays, but thank you for staying the course with us. #RunAsOne If their system worked properly it probably would have been sold out by midday... Just glad I got in, but I think there are going to be some very sad pandas who have missed out.. Lottery system no doubt for next year shaper
SeaBee Posted November 13, 2018 Share What irritates me most is that a truckload of people that have entered today, did so fairly sure that they're not going to pitch up on race, but they miiight... or hey, we can just sub later. That escape route is too easy and stuffs it up for the rest of us. Which means that a good friend of mine, who runs a sub-5 Oceans and 8h Comrades, but is an ICU doc and as such cannot hang around a PC during the day could very well be left without an entry and hoping for one of these subs. Andrew Steer Posted November 13, 2018 Share Entry portal open again... I'm not sure they know what is cooking. All the duplicate attempts maybe confusing the system a little
Ronniek Posted November 13, 2018 Share And entries closed again. For interests sake, how does Om die Dam compare to Two Oceans in terms of entries taken up?

Pieter-za Posted November 14, 2018 Share Unofficial date date for ODD seems to be 16 March 2019: http://www.runnersguide.co.za/pages/calendar/races_in_sa/RacesInSA.aspx?RaceNo=1500058967 Can't wait to enter, as this will be #10 for me Edited November 14, 2018 by Pieter-za Hacc and Andrew Steer
Barry Stuart Posted November 14, 2018 Share And entries closed again. For interests sake, how does Om die Dam compare to Two Oceans in terms of entries taken up? I thought you were going to ask "in terms of scenery". Om die Dam entries are extremely popular, except with people that have run it once before. candz1 Posted November 14, 2018 Share Does anyone here run in Hoka Speedgoat?? Im so annoyed, my Speedgoats are already tearing at 260km! The supplier says, "oh thats a common problem and they hope they have fixed it with the Torrents".....infuriating. R2000 is a heap of money to pay for shoes that in all likelihood wont survive past 500km. My Asics Trabuco cost me a fraction of that and have done over 1300km and not a tear on them! Chris_ Posted November 14, 2018 Share What's the max distance anyone here has done during a single treadmill session? It was an hour and a half, so probably around 15km's. Planned to do 21 but no, just couldn't Hacc, Odinson and Andrew Steer
Jackes Posted November 14, 2018 Share What's the max distance anyone here has done during a single treadmill session? 23km. Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. There is more enjoyable runs though..

I'm predicting I'll start hallucinating at around the 18km mark. Hacc

Make sure the machine doesn't auto-pause (read counting) when you take more and more leisurely walks to the water fountain. Odinson
