Andrew Steer Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs5xJquBjzr/ 1:04 - half marathon.... I saw that... for a distance specialist, that's ridiculously fast.
Stretch Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Has anybody injured their Bursa in their knees, specifically behind the knee?I had runners knee just before my first comrades. Sorted by massively reduced mileage (I did a proper taper that year) and running on grass. Most knee issues are overuse. Find a grass track and run on that if you need to still put in miles..... Else.... Rest
Stretch Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs5xJquBjzr/ 1:04 - half marathon....It's amazing how easy their running style looks
dave303e Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs5xJquBjzr/ 1:04 - half marathon.... He ran a 13:52 5k back in 2012, he has plenty gas. Just love how he strides though,
Edgar Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 If anyone knows an Om die Dam entry going, please let me know. Got a friend desperate for one. Thanks To do Om Die Dam you must be desperate. Barry Stuart, Ronniek, Andrew Steer and 2 others 5
Andrew Steer Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 To do Om Die Dam you must be desperate. Hahaha... I kind of agree. I got my rubber arm twisted and we booked accommodation at the start to take away the logistics at least - hopefully it's a decision I don't end up regretting Edgar 1
Fruity Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 I keep getting a sponsored ad on FB from Totalsports about Adidas Solar Boost. They look like good shoes, although costing R500 more than the Nike's I got.
Breezer Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Where can I look for a two oseans half marathon entry for substitute. Any running sites like the hub out there?
Barry Stuart Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Where can I look for a two oseans half marathon entry for substitute. Any running sites like the hub out there? Your best bet is probably to join a bunch of the local running clubs Facebook pages and keep an eye out there. Breezer 1

Some shops the sales people have no clue what they are selling, and the sweat shop was actually cheaper than other stores when I searched afterwards to see if I got a good deal. I chose the NB over the Adidas, bit cheaper and felt more comfortable. Allrounder 1

Also, I wouldn't be prepared at the moment to spend R2600 on another pair of road running shoes.

Odinson Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 How many of you all actively practice a specific breathing technique whilst running? I played around this morning during a treadmill run and noticed that I can get a pretty big drop in HR just by actively controlling my breaths, taking slower and more paced breaths.

I notice on short runs where I’m pushing it that if I don’t breathe properly I tend to get stitches in my side quite easily.

I'm happy with my Adidas trail running shoes, but will probably stick to Nike when it comes to road running shoes.
