Paul Ruinaard Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 So i am amazed by the amount of folks who come here to complain and end up having to think twice about what they are complaining about. Its pretty interesting as to why they come here first - do they think this is Hello Peter for cyclists? What are we - a lynch mob on hire. I get this image of a bunch of pitch fork wielding keyboard jocks sitting in their high chairs judging those worthy of our help If often turns pretty pear shaped for the complainers as well. There have bene some pretty heated replies. And then the grammar Nazi's get involved as well. There are sub factions of factions that work as gangs to pummel the unsuspecting in to submission. Having said that I have done my fair share of blood letting here and my first post was I think to bitch about a Subaru motor plan. But people were more friendly then. Just an interesting observation as to how many arrive here with their complaints about being mistreated in general

If so, please provide photographic evidence of complaints.With date and times, emails as well as telephonic recordings if applicable. We will also need the sides of the other guys story. Your word alone will not suffice. If the other party does not post their side here, they are guilty until they do. Until all this is supplied in the correct order so that the Hub court can decide, this is all pure speculation and everybody should be ashamed of themselves.

Rocket-Boy Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I think you may find that people all have opinions.You may also find that some are ardent supporters or brands/their distributors or vehement haters of them.This may be from past experiences that they or others have had or maybe they just dont like bikes with a z somewhere in the name?^See what I did there? Anyway, long story short, what Im trying to say is that the hub is not Hello Peter.Sure if someone pops in and complains about service before introducing themselves and has a valid case then people will side with them.Likewise if someone pops in and says that "x bike shop kicked my dog" with no other evidence or neglects to mention that it happened after the dog had bitten them. then you might find that the owner of x bike shop had given all of the other hub user's dog's a bone in the past 'cos you know he loves dog and all. Suddenly things dont add up and people say a bunch of things. Either that or realise its the internet, grow a thicker skin and carry on?

Like I would say to someone to go to Twitter and tag the company in your complaint in order to get a response. Not Bike Hub's fault - just the way of life with social media being the order of the day. Unfortunately MOST times putting a moan out there gets the right people's attention and do often lead to the issue getting resolved. Quite a bit of that depends on the company though. Social media can hit you hard, but if you react quick and pro enough you are afforded a great platform and opportunity to turn a negative into a positive. Unfortunately for us Hubbers people WILL come here to moan. It's the biggest cycling platform in SA to do so. ***********On the flip side, I think we as a community could also handle these better. You only need one guy to sling mud for the crowd to think it's okay to do so and join in. That, unfortunately, is a human state and not unique to social media or Bike Hub.

One thing confuses me though.....Ive noticed every now and then one of us ladies has a pms-induced brainfart and has a good ol' moan about something here. Great thing about pms is that after a week it is over. Now...some of the guys moany threads have been going strong for weeks

Just an interesting observation as to how many arrive here with their complaints about being mistreated in general this is all soooo true buts its such fun isn't it the bikehub is a little slice of real life moan and you will attract moaners who after listening to you moan will start moaning about you and what you moaned about which will make you moan more etc etc whenever im down I log on here and in ten minutes im smiling (sometimes I learn something about cycling too)
