I have been contacted by him, knew from the get-go he is a scammer, I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SET HIM UP, we honestly don't need peeps like these around. There are many others who have fallen victim to him Can we get together and set a task team and get rid of this guy once and for all???

I don't know much about Cyber crimes and how to catch these people, but these guys don't even appear to be smart about it.

 

We are just making payment into a regular FNB, ABSA, etc account, which surely is linked to a name, ID, etc.

 

How is this so difficult to police?

Be aware of this scam! Just received this SMS from +27872407603:

 

"Hello do you still have your bicycle, if yes please kindly get back to me on my e-mail:- wynnelorenanne101@gmail.com Thanks"

 

It's a PayPal scam.

I’ve had so many of these with bike and other ads that I don’t even get upset anymore. I just ignore anyone who messages me and asks to be contacted on G-mail. Really if you message from your phone why can’t you communicate by phone? Just ignore and block the number end of story.

How can I do a safe transaction from a guy in kimberley?

 

He advertised a kickr on gumtree and olx. No hub account and no social media account I can look at. He is willing to give a ID copy but I dont trust that as enough. He also dont use a bikeshop in kimberley and uses the word sir in his whatsapp messages to me. Maybe I already have enough red light here or do someone know him? He said he actually wanted to sell to someone in northern cape who can come look and pay.
