Impossible to gauge really, but I reckon Jan with some of Lance's attributes (discipline/determination/focus) would have knocked Merckx out the park...

 

We know Lance's VO2max as an example was nothing all that spectacular - 84 if I recall?

Actually not a clue what Ullrichs was, but remember LeMond's figures were in the 90's

Given that Jan Ullrichs initial training was in East Germany (The GDR) before the wall came down, I'm surprised his discipline wasn't better.

 

On the other hand, maybe that's "why" his discipline wasn't better. I was in east Germany once and there were not many cakes around.

Yeah, not sure about that list... looks very outdated for the large part, and not very complete to say the least... and Froome as Fromme doesn't help the confidence either :)

Contador is in the 90's too apparently... strange there isn't a more confidence inspiring list out there...
