710mm bars with a 90mm stem. The bar sits almost right over the front axle. This helps me put a little more weight over the front wheel which allows me more grip on the front.

It is a preference thing for me.

780mm bars and 90mm stem. I'm 180cm on a Medium frame.

Cheers - maybe I just need to get used to the frame a bit more with the longer TT than my old one.

I have a straight steerer 1.1/8 fork on my Beefy and Im gassing for something like the new rockshox pike. Can i change to a tapered fork with the soul / bfe headtube? Does anyone know?

New generation Beefys have a 44mm head tube so they can receive a tapered steerer with the correct bottom cup. Older models however had a 1 1/8" head tube and therefore only accept a straight steerer fork... Post a pic of the head tube and I'll let you know which you have.

I have heard of people that call on engineering companies to machine cups fro them that are pressed in the headtube and then allows a tapered steerer

I however have never seen one or heard of someone who has actually done it , but it does sound cool and interesting

I am not sure that I understand your suggestion, but does the Hope Head Doctor not provide a solution ?

Not a Cotic, but showing the Cane Creek headset for my tapered fork, should work a treat with your Cotic

Head tube has allowance for the tapered steerer there too. You need both the right size head tube and the bottom cup. That external cup on AA's 44mm head tube will do the job. Edited by Ryanpmb
