Ok so the wheel is fine...I think.

Basic check was this: Took the casette off and put the wheel in the wrong way round. The gap between the tyre and the drive side was the same as before, ergo dish of wheel is fine.

I need to take pictures of the gaps but what is a normal gap aon a cotic solaris with 2.25 tyres?

Have the same thing on my cotic simple SS, also running 2.25.

Joined the Cotic family with my Solaris. Loving the bike. Did a 3:40 ride on it last week and my butt was fine. My old hard tail was tough on the derriere

Bike is still a work in progress

Dropping the FD and going 1 by with a Sunrace wide range casssette

Half upgraded the brakes. Front already done with Sram Guide RS.

Running Maxxis High Roller 2 on the front (fantastic tyre) and Maxxis Ardent on the back (not so fantastic tyre). Want to use a Maxxis Minion SS at the back but can't find them anywhere in SA.

Rapide TrailRacer wheel set with 27 mm internal width rims

45mm stem with riser bars also from Rapide.

DMR V12 pedals for short rides and tricky stuff. SPD's for everything else.

Why? Are they just ridden to death?

Usually the people who ride them love them so much that they never sell them. So jip, they ride them to death.

Couple that with the small numbers of them sold in SA and they become like big foot.

The hardtails do pop up in the classifieds every now and then though.

A mate of mine has a bFe, a Rocket and his wife has a Soul. He loves that rocket to bits.
