Now this is a puffy.

One of my mates in Botswana just outside Gabs

Looks like he's about to put it on the braai! ;-)

    so many where you live!!!

Yup. We had these big boulders in our garden, perfect place for snakes to hide under. My dogs are flippen good at smelling them out and they have this specific bark which immediately tells me there's a snake. Boulders have since been removed, which has helped, but they still come through my garden fairly often. Like I said, about 15 mfezi's so far, 1 tiger snake, 1 brown house snake, 1 egg eater. No mambas so far, luckily. Although there is a big one at our offices that someone else has seen twice now.

Brandon, ek slaap soos n babatjie saans. Ek word elke 2 ure wakker en huil...

I climbed into the roof (with a shotgun)  . . . .

that sounds like an "accident waiting to happen"!

If it where me and I found a snake in my roof I'd turn the gun on myself I think. Snakes scare me cold!

Wahahaha brilliant! My mom would do this to my place, she only visits us in winter when (she thinks) the snakes are asleep.

We have 2 dogs, a weiemeraner and worsie. The worsie has more guts than brains and tackled a mfezi not too long ago. How she didn't get bit I honestly don't know. Both of them got spat in they eyes several times now but they just won't learn

i'm all for conservation and all, but snakes and spiders are a no-no, i see one I burn it

I've only seen some slug eaters around my house, but with 3 jack russels they didn't last long (even though they are very cautious when they are chasing them)

I'm with you on this one. If a snake enters my yard,he must just know that he signed his own death warrant.....

Last month while riding through golden gate I saw a dead puffy in the gutter on the side of the road. It didn't look like it had been hit by a car so I'm not sure how it died, hopefully not by a human.

EDIT: trying to upload a pic but it says the pic is too big.

Pic size limit on Hub is 2MB.

I use Windows Photo Editor to shrink my pic sizes down before I post.

You joke...my mate Peter  who owns the restaurant at Mokolodi Nature Reserve outside Gabs was lying in bed with his wife when a Moz spitter fell out of the thatch onto his chest. He knocked it away with his hand and it bit him.Nasty stuff

Almost stepped on this guy whilst running on the contour path above kirstenbosch a little while ago, not sure whether it was dead or alive but I did some very swift evasive maneuvers when I saw it initially!
