Anyone who says riding doesnt help burn it off...clearly hasnt been watching my food intake and strava profile.

Today i weighed in at 108.4 kg...i believe that if i hadnt put in mileage...i would be well over 110 kg by now.

And how much would you have weighed had you moderated your food intake?

Edit: What I'm getting at is that most people can't stuff their face day in and day out and hope to "cancel out" their energy intake with exercise. It's not sustainable.

I predict this thread will be very informative going forward. Personally I've pretty much given up with the challenge but am keen to see what this period does to me. I'm riding five times a week 25-40km/ride with decent climbing(never less than 400m mtb/road) I walk 4-6km pretty much every day on the beach and the swims(recreational) in the sea/river. I'm pretty active but I'm pigging out like a boss. Beers with lunch gins and wine with dinner. Burgers, pizza, chips with seafood, crisps, ice cream the whole shooting match. My old man is devastated that I'm such a fat fook. Good luck fatties. Catch you on the flip side.

The competition is keeping me on the straight and narrow.

If nothing else, it has made me consider everything I put into my mouth.

I am within a normal daily variation of what I was before the Christmas weekend, so am very happy.

The same for me, i really do think twice before i let go.....so all the okes with the negative comments please be more considerate, after all we all know these things and smile and wave when you hear that we are all battling.............

I haven't been a part of this challenge, but have been watching with interest. My scale is broken so I have nothing to back this up, but every other Christmas time, I've said to myself "don't worry! Eat what you like, it's Christmas. You deserve a break". This Christmas, with work and family and all the other stress, I haven't had a chance to say that yet! And I've found my eating has been pretty stable throughout the holiday.

It something I'll be doing from now on. No more "f*** it" time periods of unchecked intake.

I'm annoyed because I haven't had much opportunity to ride but the change in attitude has been quite nice to feel. Keep it up guys!

I need to stop coming into this thread.

It started out really well, looked like a great place for people to motivate each other and work towards losing some weight.

All that has happened is it degenerated into most people being unable to stick to the eating changes needed and tumbles posting pics of food to taunt everyone.

At the end of the day its all about one person (the one in the mirror) and what that person does, not what others do. I get all the motivation i need from my belt buckle and how tight it feels (tight at the moment) and if i have to tighten it or loosen it...and then of course there is the king motivator... side profile view in front of the mirror wearing lycra cycling shorts (not good)...

Try be strong

I think we're going to find people have been saying a lot of things about giving up and then come the last weigh in will have mysteriously dropped 20kg's - it's all just psychological warfare ;)

If losing weight is making you feel unhappy, bear the following in mind
