Hey guys, feeling flattered

Our team (iKhambi) has expanded this year to ensure better after sales support and technical advice. Gearing up for an exciting season in 2019.

You can reach us at 0876541940 or email at support@wahoofitness.co.za

We can not have any success without our retail partners... They have been an amazing network of passionate dealers. Anyone can PM me with their location and I will be sure to point you to the closest retailer to assist.

Cheers!

I hope this thread covers Kickr Snap as well ;)

So for those who do own this indoor tormentor; have you noted a slow/variable response to power levels when in erg mode? For instance, when whatever app is being used to demand a certain power output, it feels like the IDT is slow to achieve the required resistance or it comes on in fits and starts. For instance, going from 80% FTP to 140%, my hub power meter is indicating i've reached the desired power, but trainer road power indication shows I'm lagging behind, but eventually catches up so that the hub power meter reading and the IDT reading/demand are the same. Wheel slip?

It's abit annoying because trainer road will indicate I'm running a deficit in power level, all because I did not seem to get to the required power level at the start of the interval.

I'm aware that erg mode responds to cadence when determining what level of resistance to apply. I've noted that on trainerroad, the power level deficit is bigger if I go into the start of a higher power interval with a high cadence (which is what is required during the lower power recovery sessions).

I can reduce the deficit by slowing the cadence and then ramping up to meet required power levels during the last 2 seconds of countdown to the next interval. the closer I start to the start of the interval, the lower the deficit. If I don't micromanage the situation to that level, I get slapped with a deficit.

I feel this is the Snap's behavior more than Trainerroad, as the same behavior is noted when using Rouvy. But open to alternate perspectives and guidance :)

This is more a wahoo in general question? Is there any way from your side ( Wahoo South Africa) that you can convince Discovery to use wahoo as a official training tool, like they do with Garmin? I’ve requested it numerous times from Discovery to no avail.

Great question.

We're actively working on this link and hope to have the first phase of the integration completed by end of February.

We'll definitely keep Hubbers posted on our progress here as it is one of the most frequently asked questions on the Wahoo ELEMNT range.

  • 3 weeks later...

Good morning, does anyone perhaps have a Kickr Calibration tool, I can use, I compared my Kickr to a Freinds Garmin Vector 2 pedals and My kickr over reads by about 50 watts(Which I have suspected, no ways I have a FTP of arouns 280w), I have done the spindown but can not find how to do the advanced factory spindown - Thank you in advance.

I'm sure you will be assisted by Christian.

However, I don't believe that you should compare the vector pedals directly with the kickr, not the same method of measurement.

Incidentally how did you compare the two power meters with each other? Which protocol did you use to determine your FTP?

I did the FTP on my trainer just after I got it in December, I put his bike on my trainer with his Garmin paired to his pedals and then the Wahoo app separately.

I would also like to do this exercise.  I ride with a power meter on all my bikes and the Kickr feels by far MUCH harder.

Mine felt way too easy.
