Well organized as usual love the new venue for charity hospitality.

Only complaint is SOME of the guys doing the double loop they dont give a crap about the guys starting late. Saw a hectic crash 10kms into the race where a VB rider clipped a slow lady

I disagree there. I hit start on my polar as I crossed the mat and hit stop as I crossed the mat. The difference in time between my result and Racetec result is a negligible

Do yourself a favour, next time hit the start button on your polar when your group starts (not when you cross the start mat), and you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that there is NO difference in time between what you recorded and what Racetec reports!

I find it really hard to stay in any large bunch .There is a lot more to road cycling and fast times than being fit .Those surges and untimely breakaways kills me .Getting to Steyn city with 13 minutes spare to get my sub 3 gave new meaning to my pain threshold .I am happy with 2h56 but it felt so much harder than previous years .Well organized like always

I was happy with my 3:27 - thanks to some other Hubbers who started in L with me that I worked with.

Somebody I know did her first one. Started around 08:40 or so with her friend. They rode a 7:41. I felt sorry for them, that's one hectic day on the bike for one lap... She also apparently nearly went off bridge by the U turn.

Say what! I would also ride home in 7 hours after that!

and make sure the auto pause function is not on either. Most times the time starts and then stops until the front of the group get going.

According to my friend a small child was running in the road when she was hit by a female cyclist? The child was badly injured. Hope they both are okay.

well done on that sub 3h30 . As for your friend that takes proper determination to finish when you out there that long. She must have a strong will ????

How did the L group for hubbers perform? I know there were plans to do something from L group.

Hi Ngamla,

We were 6 interested individuals of which 4 of us ended up meeting before the start, Claus, Grant, Madelein and myself, next time, Zaheer and Michelle must come through a little earlier :-)

Have to admit, the fact that we did this really helped us and just goes to show that working together does reap rewards in the end.  That being said, sticking together did prove challenging at times but I do think that each and every person of the Fantastic 4 helped each other in some way or another and I just personally want to say a biog thank you to both Grant and Claus for their assistance today.

Spoke to some of my friends and they were of the opinion that there were some individuals who were content with sitting on someones back wheel and not doing any work whatsoever - completely defeats the point and can say with all honesty that that was not the case with us today.

Route was no easier this time around but considering that we all finished around 3h30, next year I will be aiming for a 3h ride.  For now, some r&r is at the order of the day and till then....

Ciao Ciao

It was my first 94.7. I was unseeded so only started at 9:30 with MM. Rode on my niner single speed. Was quite tough with the knobbies and the HEAT! I started cramping with 15 km to go. Finally finished on 4:57. Think I could have shaved a half hour off if it wasn't for the cramps.

Eish... know that feeling sooooo well..... did 947 last year on ss. Cramped so much after - I think Malibongwe- that looooong right-hand uphill about 20 from end- I had to walk... Whole card of Rennies sorted me... caught my mate on that last uphill....
