What would you choose...?

Hey Guys,

So I have narrowed my search down to 3 bikes.

[i ride chilled single track, fireroads, want to start doing more advanced single tracks as my skill level increases, don't want to die climbing. Have a slightly more aggressive style.]

The bikes are:

SCOTT GENIUS 740 27.5

SILVERBACK SLIDER 2 27.5

GIANT TRANCE 2 27.5

They are all around the R35k mark new. Also looking at the second hand market but the same bikes. Giant most expensive bike, then Scott and Silverback the same price.

Can't find many reviews on the Silverback but they seem to be very popular, another bike shop sells Scott more than anything else and Giants well Giant.

The giant is the most complete package, and has the better suspension platform. Also has the newer fox fork (fit cartridge) and the 32 on the Scott is set to 150mm, at which point it will be a wet noodle (flexy as, in other words)

It also has a dropper out the box, the best wheels and is, well, the Trance.

I knew you were going to say that! I actually took myself a bet, thanks Myles! I just won myself a nice lunch! :P

Giant. Look no further....

You said it yourself in essence...:"Also looking at the second hand market but the same bikes. Giant most expensive bike, then Scott and Silverback the same price."

Ja. The trance is rad but that colour scheme makes me vom a bit. Add R1500 and paint it blue and slap some yellow hoops on it.

try and get a ride on the slider .... the bike might well surprise you, I know it did me!

Yeah. I remember you're review. It's got a revelation up front if memory serves me..

if you choose the Trance (which you obviously will because it's the best), make sure to do internal routing for the dropper from day one. Will save you endless k@k.
