So is "Push of a climb" and "Nando's" really omitted from this years race?

The previous pages still don't give a definitive answer.

So I was offered a spot by a friend that cannot make it anymore about 2 weeks ago. I obviously took it. I have been focusing on running the past 3 months with two or so road cycles every week. So needless to say I am worried that this is going to be a sufferfest of note. I spent last weekend in Lesotho. Much to advanced for my technical skills, but I managed most the climbs reasonably well.

I am fit, but clearly under trained in terms kms and MTB skills. How difficult is it going to be to get through the 3 days?

Running? You'll be good for the climbs, and no need to stress about the downhills and other parts.

Your bum is the only thing that may complain .... so maybe spend as much time of this week and weekend as you can in a saddle ... and for the rest, ENJOY!!!

I am doing an 80k on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to see how my bum holds up

Push of a climb is out, different more direct route being taken, cuts out a bit of a loop and reduces the district road.

From the route description it seems that the entire route between kms 40 and 75 is different to
From the route description it does look as if the major climbing bit between waterpoint 1 and "Out of Africa" (the bit after Push of a Climb) has been replaced by new climbs. It definitely does not sound easier, but the change will again bring something new to look forward to. Let's see what it holds. I wouldn't be surprised if the Iconic climb is everything it's built up to be. Farmer Glen was looking for ways to make it harder...

Looked back to 2012 route, and after the description, I have no idea.

Will have to wait for the missus to report back from J2C ( although she is so rigting bedonnerd, she may as well be riding in the cape, and getting any kind of decipherable directional information from her is challenging )

Anyhoo, shouldn't really get into figuring out where the new section is too much, leave a bit of mystery for my 4th time, lucky bastard I am.

I see the route profile and descriptions are up on the sani website. it seems that the Nandoes Climb and Push of a climb have been excluded in the new route alignment...

Yip. Just seen the Joburg2c uploads. There's a nice 23% section coming out the valley, with the average being nearly 9% over 4km's.
