Strava Premium and the yoyo fees

My Team mates have been chatting about Strava Premium and whether its worth it or not.

A team mate pointed out that the fees is R 499.99/year  post-39481-0-86280300-1470290479_thumb.jpg

I checked the price and saw it a bit out of budget to pay R 1199.99 for a yearly fee. on the same day !post-39481-0-41268400-1470290459_thumb.jpg

I was a bit confused and wondering why the changes in fees.

we took some screen shots, so if you were lucky you paid R 499.99, if you weren't, you paid R 1199.99.

anyone else notice this?

From what I saw, they upped the premiums in July 2016.

I stopped mine as I have no value for it other than getting live segment feedback every now and again when I feel like playing with the KOMs.

Other than that, no value. (For me)

I use the premium and is still on

Use the fitness-form chart and it's very useful

As well as other star benefits

The price hike will make me reconsider to renew

Just cancelled mine, although I enjoy it, I think a more than double price hike don't sit well with me. Luckily, mine renewed in July when it was still R500. I would have been pretty p off if I had to see over R1k come off my account

Also canceling mine in December. It's only the suffer score and Fitness & Freshness graph that's useful to me on the premium edition and since they don't take any running activities into account on the F&F graph it's also kind of useless because it's not accurate then.

I do plan to move over to Training Peaks. They give much more detailed analysis and take all activities into account but it's not sosial (which does not bother me). It does cost a little bit more though

The new Strava Beacon function got me curious about joining premium, was looking for Premium users to give opinions if they felt beacon worked for them or not. Must say that the price increase has diminished my desire to upgrade though

edit: still being offered at R499.99 after 30 day free trial

Consider using Golden Cheetah, is free and will give you everything that you can find on TP. You can get a PMC for cycling and also a Triscore chart which you can combine with other sports such as running and swimming

Still paying R48 per month - got a fright when  saw this thread! Tried Beacon this afternoon, it works very well - similar to the Endomodo tracker.
