I'm waaaaaaay over that requirement, but I suspect Roux won't sell to me cos I'm a dodgy character...

I put in a good word for you. .... Hope that helps

I Don't mind greeting others and I don't mind if they don't greet back.

But I hate akward greetings. Like coming up behind someone and then greeting...

When is the appropriate time to say: "Mornin!"

I once greeted a guy in this situation who was in deep deep thought. Scared the **** out of him.

I couldn't keep track of the number of people that greet me on a ride any more than I can keep track of how many lengths I've swam at the pool.

It starts off so easy, 1,2,3 and then suddenly I remember that I haven't been counting for goodness knows how long.

It's a good thing I read this thread! If someone came up behind me shouting "track, track!!" I would just think he is excited about being on the single track! At least now I know it's MTB language for "move over slowcoach, I want to get past"

I greet people all the time because I like being friendly. I don't really mind people not returning the greeting - maybe they are having a bad day, maybe they are just shy, maybe they are a dick, who knows. What I do know is that I am in control of what I do and say, but I have zero control over what anyone else does and says. Why stress over something I have no control over?

Don't be a dick, that's all!

Nice BDF, said it cool. Do you greet because you are hunting for a response or do you greet because irrespective of what the other person does, you feel better knowing you greeted?

The answer is simple, if their bike is cheaper than yours don't greet them, if their bike is more expensive than yours race them.

I am too n00b to know the differences, so I just greet everyone [emoji12]
