Got my closing letter on Thursday, so hopefully getting some of my taxes back soonish........

My travel allowance does not show up on my IRP5 form. Is this a common problem at SARS? Or could this be my employer’s error?

 

I have logged a dispute and SARS was quick to respond by saying we should submit the corrected IRP5 form and some other forms meant for the employer...

Same problem I had, your employer has probably bundled your salary and travel allowance as a single income.

If there is not a specific line item for the travel allowance it will block you from logging that portion of the form.

They will need to reload the amended IRP5. It takes a few days unfortunately.

Following our original filing, I got a closing letter this week and my wife got a “resubmitted notification”

 

She did not resubmit anything.

 

What does this resubmission notification mean?

She has already provided documents that were requested previous to this.

Did your wife get selected for audit?  If so did she receive confirmation that the documents were received? If she wasn't selected for audit, I would suggest you try the query status button on the efiling site.

Yes, we both got selected and provided the requested documents before this mystery notification.

They called me to request more docs and then all the notifications started again.

Nobody been in touch telephonically perhaps?

No have not called them yet, we will wait a week or 2 and see what happens online first.

 

Normally we have found the efiling very efficient, this is the first time with these “mysterious” notifications.

Anyone know if the site is having issues?

I am trying to view my calculation results but when the new window opens it just says there has been an error.

Had to go in to SARS on the 12th to update banking details (after completing return already online) ... money finally in the bank on 31st July

 

After years of getting refunds straight into my account before my tax guy can even submit his invoice, my bank account has disappeared from their records.

 

What do I need to take with me to get it reinstated or verified ?
