Not many people know that you actually do have a car

So true...

I decided to try and use my car as little as possible. So from end of May I've been commuting with the as far as possible... Have only filled my car up with petrol once, where I had to do it at least 3 times a month. But don't think commuting saves me money; I eat like a pig, and maintenance costs run up very quickly

When you find yourself drafting other cars while driving on the highway.

When your dining room table has had more bikes services than dinner services.

When you arrange braais around rest days

When you see in the paper that the stretch of road in Kalk Bay has been opened again and immediately can't wait to get on your bike to ride the beach route without having to stop at the stop and go, and not even caring that now you don't have to sit in as much traffic anymore..

Or when you own a 25-30k bike which you took out a loan to buy, but do not own a motor vehicle. (guilty).

When you browsing the classifides for a new bike because you about to make some decent commission, but haven't bothered looking or even thinking about perhjaps buying a motor vehicle 1st or saving to get married  .

When your wife drags you off to a braai at some friend's of hers you don't know, but then it turns out the husband is into cycling too and you end up chatting like old mates, swapping cycling war stories and drinking your beers in the garage while checking out his bikes...

When you fill in a race entry form and are excited when you realise that from January 2017 you will be one of the youngsters in the Grandmasters category

I was (am) actually considering exactly that... But officially I'm not

Do it. We stayed on the west coast and the race started and finished on the east coast so I used it as an excuse to see more of the island. I had plans to ride(my bike) most days but I only rode(my bike) a few days before the race and then nothing afterwards.

... you're out house hunting and you spend most of your time in the garage pacing them out to see whether they're big enough for a proper bike workshop...

You don't recognize people when they are not in cycling kit or with their bikes next to them.

Had this friend that I rode with for years. Then one day I noticed he was bald.

I never would have pegged him for a bald guy. It was awkward because he could tell I was staring. I can be like a 5 year old sometimes and just blurt out whats on my mind.

Are you bless jou naai? Yoh, you think you know someone nuh.
