I can vouch for this.

I too once removed stickers from wheels, it was a Doom/Q20/Hairdryer/Gazillion pieces of paper affair.

The dude who could reverse engineer that mess back into a recognisable decal, gets the Humpty Dumpty tendor!

Actually, someone else will get the tendor, he will charge triple the price, pay the guy who can actually do the job 1/3, pay the guy who gave him the tendor 1/3 and then take the other 1/3 for himself. . .  entrepreneurship at it's best

How do you prove that 6 months later?

It would be very difficult in this particular circumstance. The only written evidence seems to be the advert. The advert does not specifically say that the wheels depicted in the picture are the SAME wheels that are for sale or SIMILAR to the ones for sale.

The seller would have had to make a specific false representation for there to be misrepresentation. Non-disclosure (except in certain cases) does not necessarily constitute misrepresentation. Further, the misrepresentation would need to have induced the buyer into buying and he would have to be able to prove damages resulting from this.

Not an easy task to prove.

That said, If the seller did pull a fast one (I'm not making judgement here) I would hope he comes clean. Bit skommie if the buyer's version is the truth.

HAhahaha, this thread is sooo funny, now next time any one of you walks into your LBS and try spin a story of "you serviced my bike a while back and now...." just remember this thread.

ADVR - get real, realistically who would really try and pull a scam like swapping rim decals etc...unless it was a 50k set of Enve's then maybe, but R1400/1200? - a replacement rim alone is +-R800 never mind labour etc...who would sell a wheelset (anything) at a loss?

If you are not happy with your purchase then sell the wheels on - there is nothing wrong with them - that "stress mark" that you refer to can be found on many many different types and makes of alu rims...Move along.
