Ironman 2017 - PE

Well it turned into a hot and windy day, but was ok on the bike leg.

My estimate of my times posted a few days ago were

1:20-1:30 for the swim, came in at 1:26 with some cramps during the swim and a leaky goggle that I had to periodically empty. The onshore wind made for a choppy and testing swim.

Sub 6:00 for the cycle, ended up doing a 6:07 with 2 mechanicals

Sub 5:00 for the run, smashed it with a 4:00!!

Finished with an overall of 11:52, so pretty please considering conditions!

Now for a week of doing nothing, and so looking forward to the break!!

Had huge cramps on the bike which were debilitating aN had to stop a number of times but hey it's iron man. Had a 6 hour cycle in the bag that went awry. It's life

 

65 swim, 6:20 bike 6 run plus around 25 in T1 T2 so missed my aim of 13:40 by a few minutes.

 

4 hour run is stupendous. Well done to all.

Thank you for your report, I enjoyed reading it.

I ran Irene yesterday and afterward I watch Ironman. You guys are truly inspirational. Congratulations to you all!!
