Sooo Proud, my Pops becomes the oldest finisher at Epic ever, 70 years old AND 281st overall.

Give that man a Vodka and Coke!!!

Give him a case - awesome achievement indeed. Congrats to your pops.

Worked at the Epic from Thursday till Saturday at Oak Valley, They could definitely host the finish there.. Such a great venue, Thoroughly enjoyed working at the Epic.. I am only a road cyclist but seems after being there and having plenty interaction with majority of the riders, A small bug of curiosity has bitten me and I might just actually enter next year depending on how training goes(keeping in mind I have NEVER ridden on a mtb before). But I am going to start soon and who knows, perhaps next year I will be there as a cyclist and not working there!

I must say though, CONGRATS to ALL THE riders, I saw some very badly beaten up cyclists over the course of my stay there!!

That used to be such a fun event (the Lourensford MTB ride).

Lourensford lost the court case against neighbors Erinvale about the noise levels of these events. So we won't see Epic there again.

And living close by I can tell you that traffic in Lourensford Rd is a nightmare if you don't know the back roads.

Isn't Erinvale that smarty pants place down the road[emoji85]

In my opinion Val De Vie as a finish looked poor. Almost no trees for the fans and supporters to hide under from the sun.

Absolutely agree with you. Only the corporate tents for the big boys, at a venue where the filthy rich play during the day, while us average okes keep the economy ticking.

Great performance by Last and Strauss in 2nd overall. 1st Epic for both. Both are dedicated xc specialists. Annie Last seemed like the strongest lady by the end of the race, and she I think has never done a stage race before.

Wonder how many draadsitters will now walk past the Spez Concept Stores and rather put bucks down on the better Scott Sparks?  :whistling:

The Spez boys got their asses handed to them on plate. They should let their Saffa techies handle their tyre choices next time.

The Spez boys should definitely get better backup teams, and not guys who are 10 to 15 minutes behind on the trail. The Scott team managed that perfectly. And yes, what wins on the Sunday, sells on the Monday. I am positive that Scott bikes have gained many fans over the Epic. I am a Spez fan, but would have no problem riding the Scott. Big ups to them for a fantastic effort.

That sucks. So us average plebs loose against the golfing snobs once again.

Indeed.

Rumor has it that Mr Wiese was so negative with Erinvale that he wanted to move the pig farm to the polo fields right next to them.

Scott the winning bike in Men's, ladies and mixed.

Expect to see more Sparks on the trails.

That's a good thing, as the regular working person spark has the more relaxed geo.
