Maluti double 90 in clarens on Saturday and then this on the Sunday?

Go back a few pages, and you'll see my rant - not a happy chappy, as I would have liked to have done both.

Why only these categories I ask?? Aren't these guys aware that there is still plenty of racing groups in between Elite and Open/Seeded

Unless of course they seed in such a way that the bunches still pretty much resemble the racing groups and open batches as can be found in most of our local races

I like it.

You are either a professional or a funrider.

Be careful otherwise the start will become like a jogging event. But as its run by racetec, the open bunch will be seeded similar to the Cycle tour in batches.

Maluti will be back in 2018. No guarantee that we will have Letape close to our shores again.

This was last night on Super Cycling. It is to become an annual event, but the idea is to move it around the country each year.

The only bad thing is that it is after the Argus and before Tour Durban- Three costly road trips (from Gauteng) within 6 weeks- it's gonna stretch the budget.

corrected.

Mighty Mouse asked the organizers (on that Tuesday night cycling show) if it will be taken to different parts of the country. Yes was the reply.

The problem with two similar events, is that the field gets diluted somewhat and one ends up changing their date or disappearing off the calendar.

Suppose ASO will make the call after next year..depending on how many enter.. it is not cheap that is for sure, and you get full road closure and hopefully an experience that will be awesome. But there are the added accommodation and travelling costs etc that add to the bill. So you are looking at a hefty bill.

But honestly this is the first road event that I said bugger it I am entering. Perhaps I like it so much that I will give this road thingie more attention.

I have to add the location is what sold me.. how beautiful.

cool, well thats good news then. But as mentioned having soo many big events close by won't work soo well.

With next year being just up the road from Durbz, its a no brainer for me. The route is in such a great part of the country.

I'm in! (as long as I can find someone to sponsor my entry fee....) :whistling:

Now to set the alarm and get my oversized butt out of bed in the mornings and make sure that I am ready.
