[Event] Bestmed Berge En Dale Classic

Tough day in the saddle. It was pointless trying to follow the below graph for the '102km' route. For R390 at least someone could have uploaded the right map. Especially since we were gifted with 5-6km extra. I suppose ASG made sure we got maximum bang for buck.

Considering the length of the route it also would have been useful to have a racetec mat halfway as done in previous events. Again, I doubt this would be costly for the entry fee paid.

In fairness, sms's were sent out with the correct distance for both routes. Do think it was peculiar that road markings still said 102 given ASG clearly knew that was wrong.

Judging by their seeding system, numerical stuff is not one of ASG' s stronger points

Apparently Racetec had a complete meltdown today so there won't be any official results ????

I'm sure that's going to please a lot of people and might lead to a new popcorn thread...

This came up on my Facebook....A professional outfit should have two backups at least... One of which is manual. Bit of a piss poor excuse

Hmmm I didn't race this, so not emotionally attached to results....

Racetec usually does a tip top job, don't usually mess up, out of the last 100 races, how many have they screwed up?

Agree with that. Do understand from some organisers that they are expensive though?

Had to dig deep until close to the Tarlton turn when C groups started to form, had a good ride with a solid group from there to Valverde when things fragmented but two of us alternated all the way through from there, made a nice change to have strangers keen to do some team work.

A frigging mental driver before the railway lines on the Magalies road, double cab overtaking us into oncoming traffic forcing them off the road.....f$&@ twice, some scary stutt and came very close to going horribly wrong, what a chop.

Managed to forget my chip and only remembered when was half way to the start, not worried until I realized I needed it for max vitality points

Racetec meltdown?

That's quite unacceptable considering what this event cost and all the weaving in and around cars we had to do in AL.

Bit of a shocker ASG.

Was in first main bunch of AL (excluding the few who got away as usual up Hill Snacks) until my mate punctured his tubbie on the way up to Maropeng. As this was more of a training ride for me, I turned around and went back to help him. Rejoined the 3rd AL bunch which had been caught by the few front runners from BL and ended finishing in 3:11. With the ride to the start and back home got in some good solid TITS for L'etape.....
