Long story short, I'm selling my my GT Peace, but not really sure how to price it...

New these weren't even R6k, but value wise it's just not possible to place the same sort of depreciation on a classic bike like this. I had it on the hub for a short bit last year at R6k, and had a few bites, but they all ultimately fell away in the end. I'm also a bit of a reluctant seller which doesn't help either. There were of course lots of other cheeky offers, but selling something like this for R3/4k just really doesn't make sense.

Ultimately I'm looking for a buyer who appreciates this simple beauty for what she is and will build it up to something pretty spectacular. Some fancy wheels and brakes, a nice new seatpost, a more fitting saddle and maybe even a shiny new paint job. That was my long term goal, but it's just not happening, and won't be happening anytime soon, it's just nowhere on the priority list and I get frustrated at her just lying there gathering dust and picking up more scratches etc in the storeroom.

This bike needs to be ridden and loved...

So, what price should I be asking?
It's still the original tyres to give an idea of mileage. Much of which has been critical mass and spruit cruises. It's scratched up a bit (mainly from being loaned out to people who don't necessarily appreciate it's heritage), nothing crazy, but long term I did want to get it touched up or possibly even a whole new paint job. Components are as per original spec, just a Hope seatpost clamp as the original was famed for failing.

All input appreciated.

She's a size large for what it's worth.

Thanks in advance

I'm with the majority here... Don't.

I have had a Niner Sir9 frame sitting in my spare room for over a year collecting dust but I just cannot bring myself to sell it even though it could fetch a couple of bob.

I just know I will weep the day I have to hand it over to anyone else.

Keep it.... ride it... give it some love.
