Nicole's whatsapp is being read - not sure by whom, but I suspect all messages and condolences will be shared - at least, I hope they will be.

Nicole's colleagues and friends are compiling a memory booklet for the small service we are having in celebration of her life. Would you guys object if we include screenshots of some the posts in this thread?

I think that's a great idea.

Help.me put me in contact with Karmi's parents. The pics and message are from Karmi's Mom

"Update on “bunny”: from a WA with Karmi's Mom

She has reached most of her milestones and is on par with most of her age group. We recently had a Occupational therapist assess her and identified a few areas to continue on. Lacking behind in speech and some bilateral movement but overall good.
She is now an older sis to baby brother, Karlo that is now 10 months old and walking.
She adores him (most of the time)."

So you read that right. Karmi has a baby brother. And things are great.

However, because of what hubbers did for Karmi, her Mom was inspired to pay it forward.

She has created an NPO:

ITO us I have registered a not for profit organisation Projects4preemies.
Our aim is to provide support and educate families with prems and create awareness on prematurity.
 Our website is:
https://projects4preemies.co.za/

We distributed a few care packages end of 2019 to prem families and donated crochet octopuses for “prem” therapy to a gov hospital. I spoke on Pretoria fm.
Our first fundraiser for 2020 is 7th March and we heard last week that Pekanwood golf estate agreed to be the host for a golf day.

It would be hugely appreciative if the money could be paid to Projects4preemies to pay it forward.

So if it is OK with the hubbers, I will move all outstanding monies into the project4preemies?

Goodness,

This thread hit me right in the feels this morning. I mean, it has been weighing heavy on my heart since the news of 2bliss's passing. But having read what the hub's actions have started, is simply amazing.

In all the negative crap and strife and selfishness that seems to be prevalent in our society today, this gives me hope, and helping others, even with what we see as small gestures, should become a daily occurrence.

Just be lekker peeps.

Just got word from a contact that Nicole has listed someone at the hospital who looks after the hospital cats from her own pocket. They have said that instead of lowers possibly make  donation to this person.

Is it ok if I split the money that hubbers donated 50/50?

Half for Nicole and Half for the Karmi Preemie NPO?

Good evening all. I wanted for ages to access the hub and write to you all. You all were such great supporters in my life with Karmi “bunny”. She is turning 4 this month, she is taking ballet, swimming and we put her in a daycare since last yr October. She is close to fluent in English, although her mother speaks Afrikaans. She is now a big sister to a brother (2). In memory of her twin brother I have started a not for profit organisation Projects4preemies and we are trying to provide support to other families going through the NICU journey. A great thank you to you all.

I was just thinking how Karmi was doing and that since Nicole's sad passing we had no way of likely finding out. And out of pure curiosity I called up this thread again and lo and behold there is a post 2 days old of a BEAUTIFUL young lady who has touched the hearts of many many people. She is so gorgeous and blessed to have a mommy and daddy and great aunt who fought tooth and nail to have her be able to have a full life.

Thanks mommy for sharing this wonderful news with us. There were so many people fighting for her in prayer just on my circle of friends, and I'm sure elsewhere as well. So awesome to see her doing so well. As a daddy to a 3yo daughter I can also attest to how fantastic this news is. Give "bunny" a big hug from all here on this forum of Bike Hub who followed her story, fought for her, cried for her and her twin brother and who prayed hard for her complete recovery. She deserves a wonderful life after the tumultuous start she had to endure.
