now imagine there was no time wasted with a mechanical? I'll say top 3 for sure.

If I understand the rules properly, the mechanical certainly cost her more than the 25 odd minutes it took to to fix it.

Was it not on the first stage where drafting was allowed ? if so, she lost the opportunity of going with the "bus" and had to ride alone (or with slower riders) for the rest of the stage.

the should pick up a tail wind through when they turn onto the tankwa rd....this "cold front" is going to bring some rain tonight but cool weather and more NB, a north wester.

should help blow them home

MM rode for 58 hours but it seems he forgot to stop anywhere.

Does anyone know how he kept his lights and GPS charged ? Did he have a dynamo hub?

sponsored by trek, I reckon he had a dynamo wheel.

in looking at the footage, i really hope the RD and medic lights did not affect his navigation through town

Not quite....on the tankwa straight for sure, but for the rest it will be a head wind/side wind.

But I have a feeling the wind will be moderate in morning with the speckles of rain and cloud cover. Will definitely make for better riding conditions. Currently the wind is howling around the Tankwa....so better settle in for the night (a few hours at least till it dies down a tad)
