It's on my SS where the BB went. Chain, cog and hubs are fine. The mud killed the XT BB, seized up completely!!

I'll just stick my head in the and and make LA La la noises.

Touch wood until now my bb on the SS is still smooth.

I was thinking about this topic as I squeezed in a quick 45 minute ride on the Mtb this afternoon. It started in the rain, luckily that stopped, although only because it started snowing, snow stopped after a few minutes so I was able to finish in the relative dry. Have a look at the temp on my Garmin in the pic

Finished my run in the rain this afternoon... final 4 mins. Was bliss - but now I have to wash my tekkies.

Lol ????

When this happens to me I take the inner out, rinse them and shoes under running water, shake off excess water and then stuff newspaper in them. Then leave in a dry spot (not to hot) to let them dry on their own. Replace newspaper after a few hrs. The newspaper really helps to dry the shoes quicker.

Works well for cycling shoes as well

tech has obviously improved alot.

When I was a lightie I used to deliver the STAR. On cold winter mornings as the wind chill factor started hitting the cycle computer it would just go black.

And there was no way it was -4 (although I still had to wear 2 pairs of gloves and shove newspapers into my shirt to keep warm)

I love riding in the rain. So much so that I will specially go for a ride if it starts raining.

Having the right equipment makes it much more enjoyable.

  • Ziplock bag to keep phone 100% dry
  • Tissues to clean glasses.
  • Mud guard/fenders to keep your bum and feet clean and dry.

MTB: It's fun but the wear and tear from the mud isn't really worth it.

Road: Fun as well, but not keen for the water from the road splashing up on me, germs... eeeew.

Also, riding in the rain make it harder to see where you are going.

So, I'm a wuss when it comes to riding in the rain.

#JustSaying

I remember that (sigh).

I left early on one of those hectic days and whilst riding home in the driving rain was cheered by a bunch of people in a minibus.

Which was nice.
