Been riding again this week after a few weeks off due to bike failure (not body failure thankfully) and so this week I have a few aches and pains.

Keeping active and keeping in shape isn't always easy and often I take my general good state of health for granted.

All the aches and pains went away last night though when I was chatting to a fellow cyclist who, when I mentioned my age, said he "couldn't believe it" :-)

I always wanted to go to MOS.....some of my favourite cycling music.

I prefer my music with screaming guitars and wild front men...but my lads invited me and I never been. Used to pop into Heaven back in the day from time to time so thought why not.

Well, there is 4 rooms, the big DJs play in the largest room and the amount of ppl that fit into this space is mad, the bass they were generating is off the charts. having played in bands and done sound work before I was mesmerised as to how the hell they get so much bass...it literally treats you like a puppet. There were 2 main DJ's , Netsky and Flux platform. the crowd went wild when the flux started around 1 and even wilder with netsky at 02:30...it was crazy.

I preferred one of the other rooms, where the bass was far less and the music more melodic.

Its a crazy place and drinks prices are steep. No boerie roll caravan or even kebab van outside at 5am which would of perfected the experience. I enjoyed it, just had to get away from the total onslaught of bass in the one room. Will go again for maybe a dj set but not for a whole night.

London at 5 AM is surprisingly busy ...wow

  • 2 weeks later...

I am falling apart lately. I was planning to do the Grabouw Weekend Warrior with my wife and son, but it looks like I will have to take a rain cheque.

I have pain on the back of my right hand, through my elbow and shoulder, and 2 of my fingers have needles and pins. I can barely type or click a mouse. Needles to say, handling my MTB through tech sections is difficult.

Will probably see the doc tomorrow, but I fear that it might be a carpal tunnel injury.

Ya well, the fact that I am a software developer did not help either. As well as the fact that I like to play World of Tanks.

Not really - it's tonsils they generally do when your young (I was 20 and it was sooooore!) but wisdom teeth can be done anytime. They often don't come through until you're older anyway. Some people don't even get them.

I see what you did there.... :whistling:

Tonsils pulled at 32

Wisdom teeth....whats that

Saw the physio again yesterday for the right arm rehab. She got me to stand in front of a full length mirror and do the exercises........yup.......like a vain gym jock! Sadly, i have to admit, it would have been a better view with shirt on!  I'm having a smaller breakfast this morning!  :(

You also have a long range fuel tank that took years of preparation to develop?

Smaller tank than most, but still, looking at the fuselage, there is no way I will be mistaken for a sleek Concorde, not any more.

I still have my tonsils and appendix, perhaps instead of looking to shed weight on the bike i should have them removed instead.  :whistling:

I am seeing my Physio at 11.

Is this now an over 50s thing? Seeing physios regularly. Last time was for my knee.

:D Must say my physio is great, but after yesterdays session I like her a bit less, actually I am now more friendly with another great girl called Voltaren, because of the workout my shoulder got yesterday.
