AndreZA Posted October 17, 2006 Share Bottom line .... the shop with the best price and having stock will get the sale!!! Sometimes. If I know I only need the product in a few days, I shop around and ask for it to be ordered from my favourite shop. But if I want something on the spot, there is nothing that irritates me more then someone telling me they have to order it for me.
Man with no name Posted October 17, 2006 Share Cajees hitting the other bike shops:
Jokerman Posted October 17, 2006 Share Hmmmmm, it's very simple actaully as I know the Boksburg guys quite well.......See when they buy stock they buy bigg........as in a couple of bikes per frame size....what your LBS can't do.......we talk like 20 to 60 bikes at a time This gives them leverage to negotiate for a better price when buying in bulk..... That's it...........

Guest Michelle Posted October 17, 2006 Share dont agree with this - andrew always greets & smiles in his shop. he even greets every single person he rides past (and with) in the mornings. coming to think of it' date=' there is CAJEES, CYCLELAB, SLIPSTREAM, MORNINGSIDE CYCLES & FRITZ PIENAAR in a radius of 10km from me and all of them are friendly and always willing to help - even if I just ask advice. take a bike to CYCLELAB for a quick adjustment - no charge! same goes for SLIPSTREAM even though i did not even buy a bike from them. [/quote']Yup... Andrew always greets, whether it be at the shop or at races (not only Andrew - Ali, Colin, Dean, etc.). The guys at Cyclelab are always willing to help. Plus, if you ever want to get a quote you can send them a quick email (and you get a quick reply). Far easier than driving around for prices. I have been to Cajees.. not for complete bikes but for accessories & I found that they were way more expensive. I can't be bothered to haggle. Especially when I can just go down the road to Cyclelab & get it cheaper anyway.
Prince Posted October 17, 2006 Share Cycle Lab will also give you telephonic quotes, no problem.
slowpoke Posted October 17, 2006 Share Cajees also give telephonic quotes... the only reason i don't support them is the same reason i don't support any other shops other than my LBS, Linden, and that is no-one has remotely matched the service i get from Linden (i've once or twice given alternate places the opportunity and have been convinced that my loyalty to Joneen is deserved). the only shop that has done as much as linden for me is Tour de Frans (i end up there once a year and yet they treat me "special", or at lest that is the perception i have, and that is what counts)

mallo Posted October 17, 2006 Share Hi D-R if my opinion has offended you I apologize, however as the customer you have the choice of where to shop. Cajees try to cater for the needs of the cycling public and will continue to do so hence the range of sizes and quantities available to the public. Cajees are trying and will continue to improve on the service side of their products but it is not easy employing specialist mechanics as they come with a hefty salary tag. Cajees do not offer professional bike set-ups hence they recommend Cycle fit for this service ( Arran has a proven track record with his service in this respect) Should Cajees put him out of business as well by offering the service in their shops, I think not. Please come into any of the shops or phone Amed, Mohammed or Fatima and speak to them about the issues you have as this will help improve on their weak areas as well. dirtrider Posted October 17, 2006 Share No no Mallo I don't get offended that easily I just though you did not sounded like somebody that cares about service . But maybe I misread ur posting .
Rolla Posted October 17, 2006 Share I've only ever bought 'add-ons' from Cajees and have found them convenient, well stocked and helpful. This winter in fact, I jammed a zip on a jacket I bought from them and I gashed open a bootie with my shoe heel. I'd worn both items loads but I took them back (at the same time) and they replaced them with new ones. Brilliant!
KlapperKnop Posted October 17, 2006 Share Basically your sales experience will be the opinion you have about the shop. If bad, the shop is bad, if good, then the shop is tops!!!!! Funny how some south africans are!
dirtrider Posted October 17, 2006 Share just like australians ?
AndreZA Posted October 17, 2006 Share Klapperkop, there should never be a "bad experience" at a shop if they are serious about business.
