Yes. But, the radio can't be switched on from the steering wheel....

And PASSENGERS!!!!!! Why can't everyone agree on thw volume!?

My car... my channel... my volume... no debate.

Same rules in my theater... music choice is mine... or off - which is the normal choice

Maybe it is just me but the rear derailleur hanger on my 2014 Giant Trance is driving me nuts.  It has loosened but is held in place by a tiny countersunk screw with either a Torx or tiny Allen head (2mm is "stripped" (not me m'lud) 2.5mm won't fit grrr)).  It's location is such that you cannot get a punch, cold chisel or Dremel to it without grinding some other part as well. It also seems to be stainless steel because it is resisting the 1,5mm drill I have tried.

Couldn't they just have put a decent sized, accessible fixing there?

At my woolies you enter the till from the right unpack groceries then pack and pay on the left.

Yup... At the one we used to use also.. But it's one design for all shops which is crazy

Get a torx a little bigger and moer that thing in, now you have a torx headed screw. Had to do that with a saw blade allen keys that were rounded off. The screws are now far easier to remove.

edit I hate Allen keys on industrial machines. I've got an old Lister-Petter engine that I'm fixing, the sump is held on with Allen keys. It's held me up for about a year, but now I've got Torx bits and an impact driver, I'll soon have the thing done.

Those Cannondales that have half of the fork missing

27.2mm seatpost diameters (why!?)

Hex keys smaller than 3mm - my multi-tool would be so much smaller if everything was 4mm or 8mm!

Those 'Dales work.

Try 25.4mm seatposts!!

Apparently its more aero.

And then they moer disc brakes on it to compensate for the aeroness......

Frames with internal cable routing but without dedicated internal channels/tubes, makes it next impossible to stop cables rattling inside the frame.

Man I will second that one. How can you design a top end bike when you know it will rattle while being ridden? I was riding behind a guy with a Pinarello F8 this weekend. Man what a beautiful machine, a frame that I am sure costs in excess of R50k, and he cables rattled like crazy. I was on my refurbished 26 year old steel machine which was silent.

My MTB has rattling cables, it pisses me off.

I'm yet to find a Pinarello that doesn't rattle!

On the topic, why can't olives and barbs for hydraulic hoses be reused?!

On the topic, why can't olives and barbs for hydraulic hoses be reused?!

Because they deform to force a good seal (i.e. clamp on to the hose). Making reusable ones is too difficult/expensive given how much you can charge for them.

any bike company that use tiny bearings in their hubs ( i mean tiny as in meat of the bearing )

stans are one

I don't ride sram wheels any more but really like the hubs ( 6805 bearings ) those bearings have great size and so much more more surface area to handle stress ....

A few items to add to the (bike related list):

- Older chainring bolts that require that special tool to hold them just enough to ensure you destroy your knuckles.

- Aluminium Hope freehubs that cassettes bite into.

- Shimano cup-and-cone hubs.

- Any bike part that requires a special tool to service or bleed (pedals etc.).

This thread reminds me of a similar article on Pinkbike:

OK, its a pretty elegant design. I just find hubs with sealed bearings a good idea.

This is the poor design thread.

Shimano cup and cone hubs are one of the best designs in the cycling industry, for decades already.
