Don't pay him anything unless the wheels are with a 3rd party who will make sure you get them back.

Otherwise you going to pay and he might keep them.

Sounds like a good lesson for you. I also learnt the hard way. It's only sold when the money reflects. First to pay gets the goods. Payment to reflect in your account and be legitimate before they leave your house.

Any hubbers in Durban? Can't you assist.

I'm still struggling to believe this guys audacity, the seller sends the wheels to him at no cost, he could then inspect the wheels in person and decide to not go any further with them, leave them at cycle lab and walk away. He even got the advice of the cylelab mechanics, they obviously inspected them on his behalf, he went in eyes wide open.

He was given that convenience even though the seller was in a different town but same as with any face to face deal you inspect the goods and either take them or don't take them.

After all that how the hell can he expect the seller to cover his incidental expenses to repair them, that's normal opportunity costs and relatively light ones at that, he decided to to take those steps and spend the money. No 2hnd deal is without risk and this fool has the idea that it's reasonable for the seller to assume all the risk including any additional risks he as the buyer chooses to take, what kind of low life pulls a stunt like that. But he clearly knows he's got the seller bent over and can take any liberty he wants.

The guy is taking advantage of that dynamic like a total pos.

you all are making arguments with an idea the the buyer is rational , there is no positive outcome for the seller without spending some serious dough

best thing is to buy some GROOT OOMS in KZN A case of beer to get the wheels themselves and then sort out courier fees with said OOMS

There's a big Crossfit competition in October, my colleague owns a Crossfit Gym and they are all going down for the comp. Give me a call if this isn't resolved by then.... Or even if it is resolved, they can still pay him a courtesy visit just to ensure he understands how things work on TheHub :)

That would cause the universe to implode.
