Damn, someone opened the DC thread before us this year. We are slacking.

We are looking for 5/6 females, between 3:20 and 3:40 CTCT this year, 250+ instagram followers.

Also looking for a slightly stronger female 3:05-3:10 CTCT to captain our ladies DC team that is looking at a 7 hour DC.

Let me know if anyone has anyone that is keen.

There is also a wild boys/girls team this year, they will do the DC, but from what I have heard the target is the braai afterwards.

I’ll captain the Wild Boys/Girls team

I know there is a strong chance I mighty regret this - but do you have to know how to ride in order to pedal with the wild boys ?

so which team is planning on finishing last ?

It’s a race between the ladies and compact crankers, it was one team last year. But there seems to be differing opinions on when to wait and when to hammer [emoji51][emoji51]

Some thoughts from a relative rookie DC rider but have completed 2 DC's one In 8hr in 2016 and the the other 6:49 (2017). Both years we finished with all 12.

Last year we struggled to find female riders to join as a mixed team despite trying hard.

Our team consisted of riders with CTCT time of between 3:02 and 3:30. We found that there are not many ladies willing to commit to the training schedule over 12 - 16 weeks. Required for sub 7hrs. They were either already in pro am type teams (sub 6 DC) or only willing to do social 8hrs or more. So it may be challenge finding 12 ladies for the team of a 7hr DC who are not already committed elsewhere.
