I vote for Les Gets. Only because I've been there 9 times.

Fly in to Geneva. Sleazyjet cheapie

Shuttle in. 47 euro pp.

Stay in Morzine. There's a bus service that runs between Morz And Les Gets which forms part of your multipass. Or better yet catch the pleney lift and roll down into Les Gets from there.

It's super cheap to be there.

650km of trail for when you aren't blowing your vuvuzela

For the kids the multipass for 2 Euro a day gives you access to the pools, Ice Rink, Skate park, tennis courts and of course all of the pedestrian lifts.

There's a cool swimming lake in Les Gets with a blow up obstacle course and an overhead obstacle course thing in the trees. There's also the goat village in Lindarets and the ridonculous fantasticable in Chatel.

Did I mention the 650km of marked trail and the 22 ski lifts?

As a slight deviation from this "holl" debate....... My daughter is insisting we go watch one world cup event next year (read as try and get a pic with Loic). My heart says fort William... But logistically and picturesquely Leogang seems like the better choice

Given the choice.... What would you go for....Choices are..

Lousa Poland

Maribor

Losinj

Bill

Vallnord

MSA

Leogang

Val do sol

Les Gets

Well seeing as you are there, why not try and see which ones you can squeeze in, in a week.

like

  • July 6–7: (DH/XCO/XCC) Vallnord, Andorra
  • July 13–14: (XCO/XCC/DH) Les Gets, France
or
  • May 18– 19: (XCO/XCC) Albstadt, Germany
  • May 25–26: (XCO/XCC) Nové Mesto, Czech Republic
and have a lekker week of leave/holiday

Or you can rev your chainsaw ( optional with the blade and muffler removed), far more nosier than any vuvuzela

Not sure what the history is in mtbking, i think its a carry over from motocross.

They do it a lot at the motocross races in europe

It does add to the atmosphere, kind of like a mechanical "AC/DC Thunderstruck" .... but can be damn irritating when you are trying to listen to the commentry

And I'm traveling on both those weekends!

So at the Canadian Open Tracey Hannah answered the critics with regards to Vali Höll beating her times twice.. By beating her... But... By only 0.6 sec... And coming in in third by a mere 0.63 secs behind Tracey was one Myriam Nicole!

I'm assuming Myriam will be back for World Champs. Gonna be a good race!

I watched a bit of the replay of the CO race. Tracey will have to up her game to stay ahead of Vali in the Worlds. Troy was super fast - 5 wins in 5 years and on the proper wheel size.
