It happens at Tokai too. It helped bed the trail in in places. Obviously not great on a berm. We could have done without the people walking on the berm too though but perhaps that was woodcutters.

Ja, but it's fine, 'that guy' has been using tokai since before any of us were born! How dare anyone question people running up a DH trail!

Maybe he gets hit by an out of control ex golfing eBiker and two problems gets solved at once....

How can anyone care about this? We have plastic polluting our oceans, global warming, starving people, most of the world below the bread line, Trump is ruining the world for Huweii owners, the Queen is going to die soon, Massive deforestation issues, an impending global recession.......

Pfffft..... I'm with Buff_SA, who cares about this? We should obviously tackle all problems from the top! The biggest ones first, because yeah.... The smaller ones don't matter at all because scale!

Before you flame me, it's relevant! Because I agree with a guy with an underscore in his username! Boom!

Drops mic

(Sorry, I'm having a hard time doing month end books)

Agreed. Everyone knows she's a shape shifting reptile from the lower fourth dimension and that her body is just a vessel.

*Too much?

You already went too far with the suicide > vegan

Wonder if I shouldn't just put up my hand and say it was me. Big apology, first time there, really sorry, great network, take a few hits for the greater good esp as I've never ridden there and was planning to go there this weekend with a buddy who only has good words about the place.

I dunno, was suggested earlier and the same poster also felt it a bad idea, as unlikely as it is the owner may know who it was or the real person may ultimately come forward and lieing for our own personal benefit basically could make it worse.

Now it's closed temporarily we hope, but that could make it very very perminent if it goes wrong.

As much as I'd love it open again, it's not worth the risk. 2 wrongs don't make a right hey.

Plus the apology does not mean to would be opening soon, just maybe sooner.

Let's not go that route, as others have mentioned.

The trail builder as well as land owners are cyclists and I am sure are likely keeping an eye on discussions here and FB. I think they will come to realise that we are behind the sentiment of closing temporarily, even if it is just to make us realise what a privelage it is to ride there. Let's not undermine their efforts by lying/taking a shortcut to get trails open again, it's even more disrespecrful than riding on closed trails and I would say insulting their intelligence - does not bode well for us.

I think those that suggested a joint effort to help with trail maintenance are onto something, I'd be keen to join if it happens on a Saturday.

As with most of problems caused by knob heads, it's often better to try to solve them by demonstrating that not everyone is that way. Hopefully just a few.

A build day might go a long way towards this. Sign me up (if I'm not busy moving a shop that weekend, that is...)

Sadly it makes sense why Meerendal went "over the top" .... NO entry unless you can show your membership board OR pay your entry fee ......

PITY that a land owner has to go  to such extremes to make his land available to those of us that want to enjoy the beauty of the area.

THANKS to each and every land owner that welcomes us onto your property !!

Yup!!! Called the broken window theory. ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_windows_theory) If you break any laws, stop bitching and moaning about others doing the same. You speed? You have no right to complain about crime and corruption.. as you are actively assisting in creating an environment conducive to lawlessness. Topic best to be discussed after a ride, with a beverage of choice in hand, next to a fire.. waiting for your veggies to get medium rare.

Here he is...

It's part of the same problem - rules don't apply to me.

Ignore the minor stuff and it gets bigger. Throw one chip packet into the bush and everyone else will think it's ok because there were no consequences for the last guy. Lawlessness breeds more of the same, and once it's started it's very difficult to get back again.

I agree there are more serious problems to solve, but that doesn't make the smaller ones less important.
